Apiway AI Photo & Video Search Agent (AI Photo Search for short, formerly Photo Picker) sorts a trip or a photo shoot for Instagram. You give your agent (Claude or ChatGPT) a link to an album. The agent picks the best photos, puts the rest in folders, and you save any folder to your phone in two taps. It is free and works right in the chat — on your phone too.
Start
- Open the AI Photo Search link (apiway.ai/do/…), press Copy and paste the line into a chat with your agent.
- If Apiway is not connected yet, the agent tells you how: connect Apiway once and sign in with your email.
- Send the agent a link to the album. The agent sends you the album's page — watch the photos land in folders there.
Which links work
- Google Photos: open the album → Share → Create link (photos.app.goo.gl/…).
- iPhone Photos (iCloud): open a shared album → the person icon → Public Website → Share Link. If iCloud storage is full, the iPhone does not upload the photos and the album looks empty.
- Google Drive: a folder → Share → Anyone with the link → Copy link. Folders inside folders are read too.
- Yandex Disk: a folder → Share → copy the public link.
Videos are kept apart: they are listed on the album page, and Google Drive videos play there. Finding moments in videos and making a reel work only with an agent on your computer (Claude Code or Codex): it downloads the videos, finds the moments and joins the clips there; in a chat it sorts the photos only. A closed album is not opened: make the link open, or send a zip. Apiway sees only the folder you gave, not your whole Drive. Links from Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp or Pinterest are not albums — save the photos to Google Photos or Drive first.
The folders
- Top — for Instagram: the best 1–2 photos of every scene, split by subject (People, Nature and water, City and architecture, Food and cafes, Interiors, Sport, Other).
- Good — in reserve: the other good photos.
- Everyday — memories: shots that are fine but not for the feed.
- Junk (delete): blur, closed eyes, screenshots and the like, each with its reason. Nothing is deleted — you decide.
A scene is the same thing shot many times: one pose, one set, one building. Inside a folder the best photos go first. The folder names follow your language.
People and the owner's tools
- A folder for each person: the album's owner agrees to face recognition once, then each person gets a folder with their face as the avatar and a link of their own. People without a name show as «Person 1», «Person 2».
- Owner's tools (only the owner sees them): group people, find a face, search by words in English («golden retriever», «sunset on the beach»), «Is this you?» checks, move a photo to another folder, rename and reorder folders.
- Guests see the folders only. A person can press «Remove me» on their own page.
Faces and words are recognised in your browser; Apiway keeps only which photos belong to a person, never face data. Deleting a folder deletes it only in Apiway — the photos stay in Google, iCloud or Yandex. Photos the agent was not sure about wait in «Unsorted».
Take it for yourself
Every album and folder has one button, Take it for yourself. It offers two ways:
- Through your AI agent: the button copies a ready line; paste it into your agent and say where to put the photos («put my photos into my Google Drive»). Apiway creates a folder there and copies the photos in their original quality. Connect your Google Drive once when the agent asks. The first time you connect Apiway, open a new chat and paste the line again.
- Download as a ZIP.
Google Drive works today; Google Photos, Yandex Disk, Dropbox, OneDrive, pCloud and Box are shown as «soon» until they are switched on. iCloud has no way for apps to write into it: an agent on a Mac puts the photos into the Photos app, or you drag the ZIP in by hand. Copying is free.
Save to your phone
- Open the album's page on your phone.
- Under a folder, press Save to phone. Apiway gets the photos from the album.
- Press the button again and choose Save Images. The photos go to your phone's photos.
A big folder saves 30 photos at a time. On a computer the button downloads the folder as a zip. The photos come straight from Google or iCloud in their original quality; Apiway keeps no copy.
What Apiway keeps
Apiway keeps the list of photos (their ids, dates and the album's own preview addresses) and the agent's decisions. The photos stay in Google or iCloud — «Save to phone» passes them through without keeping them; Apiway stores no photo files and calls no AI model — your agent looks at the photos with your own plan. The album page is open to anyone with its link and is never indexed.
