Your Apiway account already sends email from its own Apiway address, set up for delivery. Connect your own domain when you want to send from your brand and manage your domain’s deliverability and reputation yourself. It is a few DNS records; this page lists them and how to add them at each DNS provider.
In short
- Every Apiway account already sends from its own Apiway address (…mail.apiway.ai) with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up — connecting your own domain is optional.
- Connect your own domain to send from your brand and manage your domain's deliverability and reputation yourself.
- When your DNS provider supports one-click connect, Email → Settings shows a “Connect with <provider>” button that adds every record after you log in there and confirm.
- Apiway re-checks the records every few minutes on its own and tells you when the domain is connected — there is nothing to press.
- Enter only the part before your domain in the name field (for example `abc._domainkey`, `_dmarc`). For the domain itself most providers want `@`; some want the field left empty (noted per provider below).
The records
| Purpose | Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| DKIM (3 records) | CNAME | <token>._domainkey | <token>.dkim.amazonses.com |
| SPF | TXT | @ (the domain itself) | v=spf1 include:amazonses.com ~all |
| DMARC | TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@<your domain> |
| Ownership | TXT | _apiway-verify | apiway-verification=<token> |
DKIM (3 records): Three of these, each with its own token. The exact tokens for your domain are in Apiway → Email → Settings, or press “Copy for ChatGPT / Claude” there.
SPF: A domain may have only ONE SPF record. If a TXT record starting with v=spf1 already exists, add include:amazonses.com to it just before ~all / -all instead of creating a second one.
DMARC: Monitoring only (p=none). If the domain already has a DMARC record, keep it — do not add a second one.
Ownership: Proves the domain is yours. The token is in Apiway → Email → Settings.
The exact values for your domain are in Email → Settings. The Copy for ChatGPT / Claude button there copies all of them, with a link back to this page.

Checking
Apiway re-checks your records every few minutes and tells you when the domain is connected. New records can take a few minutes to show up; that is normal.
