On New presentation, press Redesign existing deck, add the old presentation as a file or a link, and choose Refresh the design. You then choose what happens to the texts, the design and the animation, and an AI agent rebuilds the deck.
Steps
- Open PresentationsOpen Presentations in Apiway. The first screen is New presentation. — open in Apiway
- Press Redesign existing deckPress the card Redesign existing deck.
- Your presentationOn Add your old presentation drop one file (Drop the file here · or choose it) or paste a link to Google Slides, Google Docs or Notion. The file row then says Uploaded; Replace swaps the file. Tick the rights line.
- What to doOn Refresh the design, or share it as it is? choose Refresh the design. The other card, Just share it, publishes the old slides with no change.
- TextsOn Keep the texts, or refresh them too? choose Refresh the texts too (the same facts, said shorter and clearer) or Keep the texts (every text and number stays; a long slide becomes two).
- DesignOn Where do we take the design from? choose From a template, From a reference or From your brand. A template is the default.
- Template or ReferenceWith a template, pick one on Choose a template. With a reference, give a file or a link on Show us the design you like and press Take its look; only its look is used. With your brand this screen is skipped.
- AnimationOn With motion, or static? choose With motion or Static.
- Your wordsWrite what to stress and what to leave out. You can attach files and pictures with Add files or pictures. Press Skip to leave it empty.
- Who buildsOn How will you build the presentation? pick one agent: External agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, DeepSeek Harness), External chats (ChatGPT Work, Claude) or Apiway AI Agent. Press Next.
- TaskThe screen shows Task for the agent. Press Copy task and paste it into your agent, or press the button that opens the agent. The agent builds the slides and Apiway shows each step.
- PublishPress Open the presentation's page, look at the preview and press Publish. You get one link; anyone with the link opens the presentation.

If it did not work
- The screen says “This is an old presentation format. Save it as PDF or as PowerPoint (.pptx), then drop that file.”: Open the file in PowerPoint or Keynote, export it as PDF or .pptx, and drop that file.
- The screen says “Only the first 300 slides of the file were read.”: The file is longer than the limit. Split it into two presentations.
- A Google Slides link is not read: The link must be open to anyone who has it. Change the sharing of the file, then paste the link again.
- You want the slides exactly as they are: Choose Just share it on What to do instead.
Questions and answers
Does the redesign change my numbers or names?
No. With Refresh the texts too the phrases get shorter and the headlines stronger; facts, numbers and names stay. With Keep the texts the words stay as written.
Is my file analysed while I fill in the brief?
No. The file is only taken. The agent reads it after the launch.
