Open Connect an agent in App Factory, pick your agent and follow its page: add the Apiway connector, sign in to Apiway and click Allow. The page turns to “Connected” by itself, and the agent then sees the apps of that Apiway account.
Steps
- Open Connect an agentOpen Connect an agent in App Factory. It lists ChatGPT Work, Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, DeepSeek Harness, each marked Connected or not. — open in Apiway
- Pick your agentPick the one you already use. A coding agent runs on your computer; ChatGPT and Claude write the app right in the chat.
- Follow the pageThe page of the agent gives the numbered steps and the connector's address. The same steps are below, one section for each agent.
- CheckThe page turns to Connected by itself. In a chat, ask: “Are you connected to Apiway? Name the Apiway account and list my apps.”
Connect ChatGPT Work
- Step 1Open ChatGPT → Plugins.
- Step 2Press Add → Create custom MCP server, name it Apiway and paste this address: https://apiway.ai/api/mcp
- Step 3No such item in the menu? Turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login — it needs a paid ChatGPT plan.
- Step 4Sign in to Apiway and click Allow.
- Step 5Check the connection in the chat: Are you connected to Apiway? Name the Apiway account and list my apps.
- Step 6Use the “Work” tab at the top of ChatGPT — it does the task much better than Chat.
Connect Claude
- Step 1Open Claude → Customize → Connectors.
- Step 2Press + Add → Add custom connector, name it Apiway and paste this address: https://apiway.ai/api/mcp
- Step 3Sign in to Apiway and click Allow.
- Step 4Allow Apiway's tools: In Claude open Settings → Connectors → apiway.ai → Tool permissions and choose “Always allow” (or “Needs approval”) for ALL THREE groups: Interactive, Read-only, Write/delete.
- Step 5Then start a NEW chat — an open chat does not re-read the tool list.
- Step 6Check the connection in the chat: Are you connected to Apiway? Name the Apiway account and list my apps.
Connect Claude Code
- Step 1Install Claude Code. Install the Claude desktop app (or Claude Code in the terminal) and sign in with your Claude account.
- Step 2Run once in your terminal: claude mcp add --scope user --transport http apiway https://apiway.ai/api/mcp
- Step 3Sign in to Apiway. Then in Claude Code type /mcp, pick apiway → Authenticate, sign in to Apiway and click Allow.
Connect Codex
- Step 1Install Codex. Install the Codex app (or the Codex CLI) and sign in with your ChatGPT account.
- Step 2Run once in your terminal — it adds Apiway and opens the sign-in: codex mcp add apiway --url https://apiway.ai/api/mcp && codex mcp login apiway
- Step 3Sign in to Apiway and click Allow.
Connect Cursor
- Step 1Install Cursor. Download Cursor from cursor.com, open it and sign in.
- Step 2Add Apiway to Cursor: open /app/app-factory/agents/cursor in Apiway and press Add to Cursor.
- Step 3Sign in to Apiway. Cursor opens and asks to install Apiway — press Install, then Connect, sign in to Apiway and click Allow.
Connect DeepSeek Harness
- Step 1Install DeepSeek Harness. Download DeepSeek Harness from deepseek.com/harness, open it and sign in.
- Step 2Add Apiway to DeepSeek Harness: open /app/app-factory/agents/deepseek in Apiway. The page gives one terminal command and the lines for the file ~/.dsh/profiles/web/cordis.patch.yml.
- Step 3Sign in to Apiway. Restart DeepSeek Harness. A browser tab opens — sign in to Apiway and click Allow.

If it did not work
- The agent is connected but does not see your app: It is signed in to another Apiway account. Disconnect Apiway in the agent's connector settings, sign in to apiway.ai as the app's owner, connect again and start a new chat.
- Claude says it does not see Apiway's tools: In Claude open Settings → Connectors → apiway.ai → Tool permissions, choose “Always allow” for all three groups, then start a new chat.
- ChatGPT has no menu item for a custom MCP server: Turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login. It needs a paid ChatGPT plan.

Does connecting an agent cost Apiway credits?
No. Your agent runs on your own subscription with it.
Can one agent work with two Apiway accounts?
An agent sees the account that was signed in when the connector was allowed. Reconnect as the other account, or add a second connection where the agent allows it.
