Open Comment → DM and create a rule
Open the Comment → Instagram DM app from Apps, then create a new automation. You can also build the rule in @apiway_official Instagram DM after linking your Studio account.
How-to · Instagram automation
Create a Comment → DM rule on your connected Instagram professional account: choose a specific, next, or any post/reel; match one or more keywords or every comment; optionally rotate public replies; send an opening DM with a button; then deliver your message and HTTPS link after the follower taps. The automation uses official Meta APIs and has no per-run Apiway charge, but delivery remains subject to Instagram permissions, privacy settings, rate limits, and its messaging window.

Authorize the Business or Creator account through Meta and grant the requested permissions. Select the connection on the rule. If it shows needs reconnect, reconnect before activation so comments and messaging postbacks reach Apiway.
Apply the rule to a specific synced post or reel, your next post or reel, or any post or reel. Enter one or more comma-separated keywords; matching is case-insensitive and checks whether the comment contains any keyword. Or choose Every comment. Avoid broad accidental matches.
Optionally add multiple public comment-reply variants. Configure the opening DM and its button: the follower's button tap opens Instagram's 24-hour messaging window. Then write the main DM and an HTTPS button link. Advanced options include a follow gate, email or phone capture, and up to two timed follow-ups; their cumulative schedule is capped at 22 hours.
Review the selected account, post scope, keyword, copy, link, and branding or revenue-share choice, then turn the rule on. Test with another eligible Instagram account. Use Usage for matched comments and offer clicks and Errors for privacy, permission, rate-limit, and messaging-window failures.
Apiway uses official Meta APIs and the permissions granted to your connected account; it does not scrape the page. That reduces unsupported-access risk but is not a guarantee against restrictions. Use relevant keywords and messages, honor consent and privacy rules, avoid spam-like volume, and follow current Instagram Platform and messaging policies.
The keyword matches but no DM is sent — why?
Check that the automation is active, its Instagram connection is healthy, the selected post scope matches, and the comment contains a configured keyword. Then inspect Errors: follower privacy, missing permissions, platform rate limits, and the messaging window can prevent or delay delivery. The follower must tap the opening button before the later link message can use the 24-hour window.
