I'd love to send an email to a bunch of folks on my mailing list that has hyperlinks for the following

- Click here if you want to stay on the list - Click here if you want to unsubscribe With the stay link going to a page on my site and the unsubscribe going to a separate page on my site but also unsubscribes them at the same time. Is this possible in MailChimp?

Why give them two options, when the opposite of what they do is exactly what the other is? For example, if you have ‘click here to stay subscribed,’ then anyone that doesn’t click, you should unsubscribe. Which is exactly the same as ‘click here to unsubscribe.’ Just choose one and go with it. And no, that many unsubscribes will not trigger anything

I would not recommend doing this as it will show the email "gods" that you are sending spam. They want to see actually text not a ton of graphics

No. As far as I know the only way to do it is upload as a JPEG or PNG. Hyperlinks won’t transfer across, so we usually separate it out in sections and hyperlink small images within. Hopefully that makes sense! If there’s a better way I’d love to know as it’s very time consuming

I want to tag a client on Mailchimp with a specific tag when they sign up on my WordPress site

At the moment I can only add them to my audience list and not assign a specific tag to them. I installed the MC4WP plugin but the sign up form they have looks horrible. I tried to add the tag on mailchimp self but using the API form as trigger for the customer journey but I am not sure how to do that. Can someone please help?

I’m assuming you’re not comfortable with CSS. In which case, any 3rd party form builder may or may not look good with your theme. MC4WP does work well, but as you saw, the default styling isn’t great. You can also try Easy Forms by Yikes, but you’ll just have to install it and see how it looks. If you decide you want to use either of those here, post up looking for help with your css. Maybe someone is willing to help you, or you may need to offer to pay

I want to offer a new freebie to my existing subscribers

I want to offer a new freebie to my existing subscribers, and either Tag them in the process or add them to a new Group - so I can send a specific automation to them How can I do this? If I get them to self-update their profiles so they add themselves to a Group, it doesn't trigger the automation. I'm a longtime Mailchimp user with several Audiences, so in the past I just got people to join a different Audience that had all the automation set up, and then I would manually add them to my main Audience at a later stage. But I’d really like to start using the one main list . Thank you!

I have used email marketing for etsy for a couple of shops and it worked quite well. Although etsy doesn't offer an Integration with mailchimp. The email marketing strategy starts with a process of creating a landing page or form page for list building and then promoting the link through shop announcements, product descriptions, social media pages and customized other message

Update the settings on the landing page to add a tag to a contact when the form on the landing page is submitted and use the application of that tag as a trigger/starting point for an automation

Is there any way to get an embedded form to work like a landing page if they are already on my list?

I keep getting an error stating the email address is already on the list. That doesn't happen with a landing page. It just ads the tag or updates the info

Embedded forms don’t allow existing contacts to submit them - you’d have to use a third party form (I think) or if you can, use a landing page as they allow existing contacts to submit/update their details!

At the moment our business has over 20k in customer audience and I want to sort this out to categorize them in engagement groups

Eg. 5 stars goes into "Highly engaged customer". Is there a simpler way of doing this then having to go through and tagging all 20k? Thankyou! Lou

I wouldn’t tag these contacts as over time they may become less engaged but still have the highly engaged tag. Just use segments as these update as-when contacts match the conditions!

You should use Tag to categorise them. Group is to use externally and Tag internally. The simple way is first create segment based on the rating of the contacts then take action as example Tag them with a specific title. Example: Create Segment which contacts has 5* rating then Tag them Highly Engaged! so on…

Marketing Question

I just started my audience and campaigns, and wondering should all my new campaigns (these are just basic newsletters, some with a CTA) go in an automation sequence so that every new subscriber receives all my newsletters OR should I make the newsletters stand alone and just push out to all subscribers simultaneously when they’re published, so that I can promote my newsletter on Social (ie “this week’s topic is ______, did you get it?! If not sign up now!” If I put them all in an automation, then if I write a newsletter on, say, blood pressure, someone who joins my audience in 3 months will get it in a sequence, not on the publish date. Thoughts? Thanks!

you want to create an opt-in sequence (which is your automation) to entice people to join your mailing list. Your opt-in should showcase your business or expertise, giving your target market of taste of who you are. Generally, opt-ins are 3 to 5 emails. Newsletter should be general campaigns, as this content is more about what is happening at the moment, eg events, offerings, latest blogs. Hope this helps

No, but you can format the emails using the merge tag info so they are still specific to the property (if I’m understanding correctly)

I don’t think Mailchimp stores customer history. You’d need another system for that. Mailchimp contact info can only be replaced, not added to

You can set up an automation to tag anyone who clicks a particular link in an email. You need to put a link behind the button though. I just have a thank you page I use as a destination

I met a problem with my first automation

I made so a tag been added if someone clicked a special link in the mail. I named the link to “Apply to the webinar”. But I got many users tagged immediately and wondered why. I think many of the tagged has theirs mailclient scan their mail when arrived. Could that been happened? And how can I do to use the auto-tag function in Mailchimp without been worried that this will happened again?

Yes, def could have happened, especially if you sent to multiple contacts at the same domain. Not really anything you can do to prevent it, MC doesn’t have a way to distinguish a human click from a programmatic scan or click
