A long form blog post

Guys I'm publishing a long form blog post which due to it's length includes a table of contents in the introduction that is anchor linked to each relevant section in the post.. Currently achieving this by adding an HTML element above each section with an empty div with an ID added to it, but is there a better / easier way of doing this... feels a bit hacky doing it this way ?
