How to identify new records and existing records?

In After save trigger flow (record triggered flows) if we select record is created and updated then How to identify new records and existing records? Record.prior.Id = null. Will it work in this case to identify new records? I am facing big issue in debugging record trigger flow Any one have good idea about debugging?
