We're creating an app that is free to use without monetization or ads. To support us we've set up a Patreon that allows some users to just support us through there. However, right now we don't offer in-app benefits as we're not sure if this is allowed. We have looked through Apple's and Google's policy and we understand we're not allowed to mention or direct people to Patreon from inside the app. Therefore we don't do this. What we would like to do is give people small benefits inside the app when they have signed up through Patreon, especially some of our bigger patrons. From my understanding of the policy, this is allowed, for example, Spotify, Fitbit, and other apps allow signing up for premium on their website and gain in-app benefits that weren't done using IAP. But we'd like to confirm this, especially as we do not want to potentially be banned from the Apple/Google store because we misunderstood the policy of both stores. Any additional information on this would be greatly appreciated! :)
